Howden expands Aviation division with two senior hires

London, 19 July 2023 – Howden, the global insurance group, today announces the appointment of Steven Crook as Divisional Director, Head of Claims, Aviation and Wayne Hawkins as Divisional Director, Head of Airlines, Aviation. These appointments reflect Howden’s strategy to invest in market leading expertise to bolster its aviation offering for clients and drive further growth into the airline and aerospace sectors.
Crook’s appointment is with immediate effect while Hawkins will commence his employment at Howden once contractual obligations to his present employer are discharged at the end of 2023. Hawkins and Crook will be based in London and report to Jason Humphreys, Global Head of Aviation.
Crook has more than 30 years of industry experience and joins Howden from Starr Companies. He brings with him a substantial wealth of expertise and knowledge and spent over 25 years at Marsh in a variety of roles in aviation claims.
Hawkins joins Howden from McGill and Partners where he held the position of Partner, Aviation and Aerospace. He began his career in 2005 at WTW (Willis Towers Watson), and has since gained extensive experience working with a diverse range of companies and successfully managed a variety of complex risks.
