Oslo, Norway, 11 September 2024 – Howden announces the appointment of Jan Tinus Larsen as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Howden Norway, effective 1t October 2024.
Larsen, who has served as Deputy CEO since 2018, takes over his new role from Anders Kvan, ensuring a seamless transition for employees and clients. A founding member of Howden’s business in Norway and its CEO since 2006, Kvan will remain on the board of Howden Norway, working more closely with major clients, supporting and developing new business lines, such as Marine & Energy.
Larsen, who joined Howden Norway in 2018, has been a pivotal figure in the development of the business as Deputy CEO. Beginning his career as a lawyer at If P&C Insurance, he has held various senior positions in the insurance industry, most recently as a Managing Director at W.R Berkely Insurance Nordic, where he played a key role in strategic development and operational leadership.
Salvador Marin, CEO of Howden Iberia & Northern Europe, commented: "My deepest gratitude goes to Anders for his exceptional leadership over the years. Under his leadership, Howden Norway has achieved a turnover approaching €20 million, supported by a team of over 80 dedicated professionals. I am excited to see Jan Tinus Larsen step into the role of CEO. Jan exemplifies the qualities of a great leader – combining deep expertise in our business, both from a client and product perspective, with modern management skills. He embodies Howden’s culture, blending the strength of a global broker with the personal touch of employee ownership. As we enter this new chapter, we do so with enthusiasm and confidence, knowing these changes will position us for continued success."
Anders Kvan, CEO Howden Norway, said: "Leading the company from its inception and growing it into a thriving business with over 80 employees has been a fantastic journey. I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together. The time has come to pass the leadership baton, and I am confident that Jan Tinus, who has been instrumental in our success, is well-prepared to take the company forward."
Jan Tinus Larsen, Deputy CEO Howden Norway, added: "I am honoured to take over the leadership of such a remarkable business. Anders’ international experience in (re)insurance and the London market has been instrumental in setting Howden Norway apart from its competitors, laying a strong foundation for continued growth. The progress we've made wouldn’t have been possible without his exceptional leadership and the dedication of our entire team. I look forward to continuing to work with Anders as we step into our new roles, growing our foothold in the Norwegian market, and building on our strong growth and recent acquisitions.”
